Gangster Grace and Elegance: Jewellery from the world of Peaky Blinders
Over the last few months speculation over the final series of Peaky Blinders has been rising, and in the last few days it has been confirmed that the show will be landing on our screens early next year. If you are planning on having a Peaky Blinders inspired party, or just want to capture the elegance of the Roaring 20’s a hundred years later; here is our guide to emulating some of the best jewellery pieces in the drama-filled Gangster epic.
*There will be no spoilers in this piece, so no need to worry if you haven’t caught up with the show.*
Stunning Sapphires
This stunning Sapphire, held in a gold setting and a dainty gold chain, is perhaps the most eye-catching piece of jewellery in the show. Worn by Grace to a grand charity event, it is a perfect accessory for a big party or celebration. Not everyone will feel comfortable wearing such a large stone around their neck, however that doesn’t mean you can’t capture the essence of this heart stopping sapphire. You need look no further than this Ceylon Sapphire and Diamond Halo Ring or this Oval Sapphire and Diamond Ring, depending on your preferences.
Both the classically stylish Ceylon Sapphire ring and the more showy Oval ring, with more diamond embellishment, would be fit for a beauty such as Grace to wear on an important night out.
American style and grace
Gina is a mysterious American woman, portrayed by the starlet Anya Taylor-Joy, who becomes part of the Shelby business after falling in love with Michael. Aside from her shady personality and selfish actions, she is also an incredibly striking woman and her jewellery choices are no less interesting.
Here she is seen wearing a collection of green gemstones as part of a wonderful necklace, in a very classic 1920’s style.
You can emulate this stylish green jewellery with the Cleopatra Emerald and Diamond Set, which contains both a wonderful emerald pendant as well as a set of emerald rings.
Or if you would prefer a more modern emerald look, there is also this Emerald Cluster Necklace; which matches Gina’s strong look but can also be worn without drawing too much attention to yourself.
Jewellery that’s fit for Royalty
Princess Tatiana Petrovna shows up in the show’s third series, and wears a variety of dresses and jewellery pieces to die for. Having come to England as a member of the Russian royalty, it’s no surprise though that she always has a wonderful piece of jewellery to wear.
If you want to live the life of a Royal, you can emulate Tatiana’s alluring jewellery pieces with the ‘Enchantress’ Emerald and Diamond Necklace, which also describes her effect on Tommy.
Or, if you want something even more dramatic and that has previously been worn by a royal dynasty, this Emerald and Diamond Infinity Set is perfect for you.
Suited and Booted
Whilst most of this article has been centred around the women of Peaky Blinders and the wonderful pieces of jewellery they are wearing, there is always room for a bit of Tommy Shelby appreciation. The suave crook-come-gentleman is always well dressed, whatever task he is completing. To maintain his stylish look, his shirts are held in place with a variety of cufflinks that give off the aura of control in both the boardroom and in a dark alleyway.
For a taste of Shelby style whilst maintaining a conventional look, why not choose these knots of metal cufflinks. If you prefer to emulate Tommy’s softer side, a pair of cufflinks mounted with a mother of pearl would be very fitting. Or for a more eye-catching and distinct pair of cufflinks, look no further than these oyster shell links.
